Club Christmas Cards

These two Christmas cards were part of an offering on a club date, and I realized I haven't posted them! Yes, I know... terrible.

I played a bit with this technique and my first try was a disaster.  A DISASTER.  After some thought, I tried the embossing folder the opposite way - and debossed the snowflake in the center of the card.  Result!
To deboss an image, turn the embossing folder over so the image is indented into the paper instead of raised.  It gives you a different look and in this example the images can be seen clearly.

You could actually see the images on the card!  The center was too difficult to see when the snowflake was embossed.  Debossing is definitely the way to go!

I made two options..  I always like options when crafting.  Get two crafters together with exactly the same supplies and you end up with completely different projects.  I love it!

Swirling Snowflakes

In my opinion, this card doesn't look like much here - BUT in person, it's STUNNING!

I'm busy preparing for my Christmas Stamp-A-Stack that will happen later this month (October) and this card is beautiful, but just didn't quite make the cut.  I wanted to feature it because it's really pretty!
As with anything, when you know how, it's not difficult at all!

Husband's Birthday Cards

A month late!  It's been a crazy beginning to the school year.  CRAZY!  Things are settling a bit and I have some time to get caught up.  WHEW!

This technique is called an Eclipse Card.  I'm not sure if this name stuck because of the big eclipse we had back on August 21st, or some other reason... but this is the name of the technique.
I used the Wood Texture papers, and cut the 57 with my large number dies... and popped them back into place with dimensionals.
This side view you can see the 57 much more clearly.

Since our tradition is 2 birthday/holiday cards I also made this one below using the Happy Birthday die I love so much!  It's quite tricky getting all the pieces back where they belong, but it is possible with some perseverance!

I like this one better.  You can see the Happy Birthday much clearer than the 57 in the first card.

I like this technique - stay tuned for more examples!

Class Offering at Celebrat!ons Stud!o!

This framed piece will be one of my first class options I'm offering at my dear friend Zandra's Celebrat!ons Stud!o.

It features the Climbing Orchid's stamp set, and the Ruffled embossing folder.

The opening in the frame is 5 x 7" so the piece is a pretty good size.  I love the 3D effect!
When a final date is posted for this class, I'll update it on the blog, and on my Demonstrator Facebook Page.

Two Classroom Helpers

Before school started, two of my former students came by and helped me get the classroom library and the games all set up for this school year.

It's quite a big job, so I gave them a choice of what they'd like for lunch... and sent these cards along with their mothers who work at the school with me.

It was a big job, and the girls rocked it out in record time with everything organized beautifully!

Spooky Cat Halloween Card

This could be the quickest, EASIEST card I've made in a long, LONG time!  It would be perfect for kids... and you could make a bunch to send to family and friends for Halloween.  YES, I know - Halloween isn't a card-making holiday.  I get it.  BUT I think this would be adorable when presented from a child or grandchild.  I also have a little one I would send this to, just for his momma to put in his Smash Book.

The supply list for this really adorable card is small - and I added both types of sponges depending on your preference.

Take a few hours with a little one and make a bunch of these cards!  World Card Making Day is coming!
